ARTnews, 2026년 ARTnews Awards 후보 공개

ARTnews가 미국 미술관과 갤러리에서 이뤄진 미술 분야의 성취를 기리는 2026년 ARTnews Awards 후보를 발표했습니다. 올해 시상식은 신진 작가, 경력 작가, 생애 공로, 역사적 작가, 큐레이터와 전시를 대상으로 후보를 선정했습니다.

ARTnews 편집장 Sarah Douglas는 세 번째로 후보를 발표하게 돼 영광이라며, 뛰어난 전시의 계절이 지나가는 동안 작가와 큐레이터, 기관의 기여가 충분히 인정받지 못할 수 있다고 말했습니다. 이어 이번 시상은 잠시 멈춰 이들에게 마땅한 찬사를 보내는 방식이며, 약 125년 동안 비평과 저널리즘을 이어온 ARTnews가 이를 맡는 것이 의미 있다고 밝혔습니다.

신진 작가 부문에는 Saint Louis Art Museum의 Blas Isasi 전시, SculptureCenter의 Emma McCormick Goodhart 전시, Amant의 Christelle Oyiri 전시가 후보로 올랐습니다. Established Artist of the Year 부문에서는 Tamarind Institute와 Albuquerque시 예술문화부, University of New Mexico 음악부가 협업한 Raven Chacon 전시와 Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago에서 열린 Mike Cloud 전시가 이름을 올렸습니다.

Lifetime Achievement 부문에는 El Museo del Barrio의 Coco Fusco 회고전, Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive의 Maren Hassinger 전시, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art와 Walker Art Center, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston을 순회한 Suzanne Jackson 전시, Dia Chelsea의 David Lamelas 전시가 포함됐습니다. Historical Artist of the Year 부문 후보는 Studio Museum in Harlem과 Frye Art Museum에서 열린 Tom Lloyd 전시, The Drawing Center의 Ceija Stojka 전시, CCS Bard의 Hessel Museum of Art에서 열린 Betty Parsons 전시입니다.

큐레이터 부문 후보에는 Nevada Museum of Art의 Into the Time Horizon, Carnegie Museum of Art의 If the word we: 59th Carnegie International, Buffalo AKG Art Museum의 Let Us Gather in a Flourishing Way, 로스앤젤레스의 The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA와 The Brick에서 열린 MONUMENTS가 포함됐습니다. 이 밖에도 David Peter Francis와 Interrobang이 공동 기획한 Snake, Turtle, Alligator: The Atomic Archive of Bryan LaPlante, Gregg Bordowitz, NinaKatchadourian, Lucy Raven, Elaine Reichek, Turquoise, Bruno Zhu, David Zwirner의 Statics of an Egg, Black Cube Nomadic Art Museum의 What We Hold On To가 후보에 올랐습니다.
